These amazing vintage pieces with a modern flair filled with laces, leathers, prints and patterns are an eclectic array of birds in motion… its a Bird Effect, to which I call it because of the structures to the styling that brings the animal to life. its a beautiful work of art that editor Stevie Dance brings forth.

Fashion Model Georgina Stojiljkovic may look stunning ; but full recognition must be given to Ben Hassett for turning water into such a beautiful and creative pictorial concept. There's almost more nudity then there is clothing, but that's hardly an issue these days; and Hassett's shoot for Vogue Germany is both striking and artistic.

Alice Ritter, one of our favorite up and coming designers.
The atmosphere at yesterday’s CFDA Fashion Incubator open house was one of pure excitement for the designers and the lucky few who got a chance to visit the premises. The incubator space houses 12 rising talents, all under one roof and presents them with the unique opportunity to work in an affordable, central location in the heart of NYC’s Garment District. Supporting the next generation has always been a goal of the CFDA and the designers represented are all on their way towards becoming household names. Yesterday’s event was a combination housewarming and meet n’ greet that gave the designers a chance to show off their new pads and talk to the press.
The diverse group represents a cross section of the current fashion scene; from avant garde jewelry designers, like Subversive Jewelry’s Justin Giunta, House of Waris’ Waris Ahluwalia and Gemma Redux’s Rachel Dooley, to luxe handbag designer Sang A, edgy menswear from Public School and forward thinking womenswear from Prabal Gurung, Alice Ritter and Bibhu Mohapatra, every facet is covered. The collective energy behind the project could be felt in each of the designer’s rooms where they shared their latest work as well as a few goodies for visitors. For a taste of the goings on (and a peek at pieces we loved) take a look at our special behind the scenes pictures.
We loved all of Gemma Redux’s pieces
Sang A creates coveted bags. Here, one of her signature python pieces.
Justin Guinta of Subversive Jewelry designs one of the most exciting jewelry lines around.
House of Waris‘ Waris Ahluwalia
Waris’ bracelets and rings are delicate yet powerful.
We adore the pins for the lucky visitors (like us).
Public School’s Dao Yi Chow and Maxwell design a fantastic menswear line (Dao Yi is wearing one of the line’s distinctive jackets).

The two major fashion brands named Chanel and Fendi head fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld was recently quoted as saying that curvy women have no place on the catwalk, but Germany’s highest-circulation women’s magazine Brigitte says it will stop working with professional ultra-skinny models in favor of ‘real women’ with curves.
Magazine’s editor-in-chief Andreas Lebert said he was sick of having to retouch photos of underweight models. “For years we have had to use Photoshop to fatten the girls up,” he said. “Especially their thighs and décolletage. But this is disturbing and perverse, and what has it got to do with our real reader?”
Hopefully wannabe models around the world will sit up and take notice.

The former model recently released "Comrade Couture," a documentary revisiting the nonconformist East German fashion scene of the 1980s, which thrived in basements and abandoned buildings, away from the watchful eye of the police. Ignoring cookie-cutter looks sanctioned by the state, the rebel fashionistas went for a mix of McQueen-worthy Gothic theatricality and homemade chic, with belts doing double-duty as bracelets, tube tops, and miniskirts. In addition to the film, Berlin's Kunstgewerbemuseum will feature an exhibit of these one-of-a-kind designs beginning July 4

Supermodel Claudia Schiffer appears naked on the cover of Germany's Vogue magazine, snapped by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, the publication said on Tuesday.
Schiffer, which is 39, is showing off her bump in the magazine's June issue, which hits newsstands on Wednesday. She is expecting her third child "in a matter of days," Vogue said.
The said model quoted that "It was important to show how beautiful womanhood is."
The pose bears a striking resemblance to a controversial edition of Vanity Fair in 1991 when Hollywood film star Demi Moore, then seven months pregnant, appeared nude.
H & M new swimwear campaign for 2010 is steaming. Lush summer colours, modern tropical prints, one piece and 2 piece, gorgeous choices to choose from. I especially like the sheer yellow top with the beautiful beading neckline, perfect for summer sunsets! All I need now are my oversize Marilyn Monroe shades!
